WGT's It's Time...

After the publication of Ndaba Sibanda’s inspirational epic of love and cultural renewal in 2005 – Love O`clock – a horde of writers inundated him with requests for assistance in getting their works published as well.

The National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) nominee, riding on the wave of Love O`clock`s instant hit status in the year 2006 was instrumental in the formation of WGT. The group took the Zimbabwean literary landscape by storm when in the same year they managed to publish and launch their debut poetry anthology IT`S TIME…

This was in spite of hyper-inflationary conditions under which they operated and the fact that they had received no external financial assistance.They became a force to reckon with, not to mention the fact that they were crowned ground-breakers or literary pioneers by their admirers and literary critics.

However, perhaps what was more surprising than the rave reviews from the ordinary people was the publicity they were afforded by the national TV station and the radio one day after the publication of IT`S TIME… It was one of the main news items!
